How to Blur Your Stripe Dashboard in Demos & Screenshots

Your Stripe dashboard shows revenue, MRR, and customer payment details. Here is how to hide that data in one click before a demo, investor call, or screenshot — without cropping images afterward.

BlurMask is free to install on Chrome and Firefox.

Step-by-Step: Blurring the Stripe Dashboard

Step 1: Install BlurMask

Add BlurMask to Chrome or Firefox. No account or sign-in required — the extension works immediately after install.

Step 2: Open Stripe and Press Alt + B

Open your Stripe dashboard and press Alt + B (or click the BlurMask toolbar icon) to enter blur mode.

Step 3: Click the Numbers You Want Hidden

Click gross volume, MRR cards, payouts, or individual customer rows to blur them. For whole widgets — charts, balance graphs — drag a box over the region instead. On Pro, Smart PII detection masks currency figures automatically on page load.

Step 4: Share or Screenshot

Start your Zoom, Meet, or Loom share, or take your screenshot. The blur is applied to the live page, so anything captured shows only blurred pixels.

What to Blur on a Stripe Dashboard

Demoing Stripe Safely: A Pre-Flight Checklist

Run through this list before every investor update or client call where Stripe is on screen:

  1. Blur the top-line metrics. Gross volume, net volume, and MRR cards are the first thing eyes go to.
  2. Redact the charts. Trend graphs reveal growth rates even when the numbers are hidden — drag a box over the whole widget.
  3. Clear the payments list. Customer names, emails, and card details in recent payments are real PII from real people.
  4. Check the payouts panel. Bank names and account endings are exactly the data you don't want on a shared screen.
  5. Hide account identifiers. Your business name and account ID may be fine for your own team — blur them when demoing to outsiders.
  6. Reload once before sharing. BlurMask re-applies everything automatically, so a quick refresh proves your setup survives the real call.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work on the new Stripe dashboard design?
Yes. BlurMask works on any webpage because it blurs DOM elements in your browser, regardless of the dashboard's design or framework.

Will Stripe itself know I blurred the page?
No. The blur is CSS applied locally in your browser — Stripe's servers never see it, and your page content never leaves your device.

Can I use Stripe's own restricted keys or test mode instead?
You can — test data and restricted dashboards are great for internal staging. But for live demos on your real account, they don't help: the numbers would be fake in a demo about your real metrics. BlurMask lets you show the actual dashboard while keeping the sensitive parts hidden.
